The On-Air Mention
All professional sports camera guys love this. Even if they say…ahhh big deal. I am talking about the “on-air mention.” It does not happen very often, but when it does, it usually follows a sick camera shot or replay. ![]() I captured another sweet puck follow to glove save at the end of my Sony “Supermo” hand held lens. The Sony HDC-3300 HD Super Motion is by far, the best hand held camera I have ever used in my career to date. It cost $270,000 plus the cost of the lens! It shoots at 90 frames per second and it is the fastest camera on the broadcast and in the building! Here is a quick piece of video from tonight’s Stanley Cup Playoff game on the New England Sports Network broadcast.

Awesome!! What a shot!
We were watching the game last night at CSN and heard the ‘mention’. Nice!
Congrats man! That was awesome!
@Scott Karlins @ BT @Aaron Pinto: Thanks guys. I am going to try to strap the Letus Ultimate on one of these broadcast cameras at some point…
So, do you really need a Vinten when you can track a puck from a shoulder mounted cam in Slo-Mo?
@Justin Carlson: I actually had Vinten, at NAB, install a vision pan head on my pelvis, the shoulders just follow with it!
HA… I actually had to read that twice because for a second I thought you were describing a new Vinten product.
@Justin Carlson: Yea, I am a human Vinten product.
I wish I had sound at this library computer
