Great job on the 5dmk2 Tom. Iam currently using a hvx200 with a letus and nikon lens and your footage looks way better. How long of footage per clip can you shoot 1080 24 or 30 fp on the compact flash card. Also what lens do you recommend me to stick with,,nikon or canon..??

Fantastic film Tom. I watched it again and again to see how you did the shots. I have just bought the same camera for short films and documentaries.

Once again Tom, that was so beautiful. What I especially love about you behind the scenes photo's is that your setup is just the bare essentials. Terrific. Your dolly shot's were smooth as can be and now I want that tripod.

Aloha, Kalani

PS: do you have a twitter account ?
I'm at http://www.twitter.com/iamkalaniprince I'd love to follow your work. It's inspirational.

i have no idea where my white balance was. i think it was auto. this was the first time i had ever shot with the canon 5dmk2 outside my house! i will try the "cloudy" feature next time i shoot with the camera.

as for the firmware update, do you know anyone who is running it? i do not want to experiment with my camera and turn it into a paper weight.

thanks for the help steve!

i used the zoom h4 stereo recorder. it is a very cheap way to get sound recorded as mp3 or wav to a sd card. the dolly is a DIY skateboard wheel dolly using pvc pipe. if you search this website, using the little box in the upper right of the page, you will find other blogs where i talk about the dolly and h4 recorder.

Very impressive work! Specially in such a short period of time. And finally some nice sound! Not one of this movies with just music on it... Nice pictures, simple idea... Very efficient!! I love it!
Could you tell me how you used your mic with this camera? And what about the dolly?? I didn't see any pictures of both mic and dolly!!
Bien joué!
