The Dolly Chair at Fenway Park![]() I recently got to operate the high home camera position at Fenway Park for a special project we shot with one of the richest people on the planet, Warren Buffet. The shoot was cool and exciting, but what I sat in was even better than meeting a billionaire. A guy named, “Clam” actually sits in this chair. He shoots all the home Red Sox games from this position and he does it very well. But today, I got the chance to slide around behind camera 2. A few of the cameras at Fenway Park use an ingenious system of curved track and a seat with skateboard wheels. This seat design is what gave me the idea to create a dolly using skate wheels and PVC pipe. The chair moves in a half circle behind the camera. The camera is attached to a high hat that is bolted to the camera platform. No tripod is necessary here. The camera operator is very comfortable as he runs this camera. He can push with his feet on pegs with a whip pan and slide his entire body down the track as he moves as one with the hard camera. Post any questions below. 1 comment to The Dolly Chair at Fenway Park |
