Mouth Wide Open on the RiverVIDEO BLOG
![]() I took a few days off and headed up to New Hampshire. I wanted to relax for a few days and the weather was going to be perfect. 75 degrees with plenty of sun. Dave, a friend of mine, lives up here and owns a few kayaks. He asked me if I wanted to try to run a stretch of river that ran through his neck of the woods. I thought this was a great idea and we set up a shuttle with one car at the top of the river and the other at the bottom. We floated with the current down the Baker River and into the Pemigewasset River. Dave brought his Sony HDR-HC3 HDV camera to shoot some kayaking video for a project he was working on. I brought my little Kodak v705 point and shoot still camera. This camera could also do standard def video at 24 frames per second. ![]() I wanted to get a few pov shots from inside the kayak as I paddled but did not have a camera mount to do it. I though of using my mouth as the bracket and biting down to hold the pov in place. It worked quite well. I made up a little story to go with this short video. I hope you enjoy it. I had fun shooting and editing it!

What a brilliant way to shut you up for a little while!
Tom – I promised Ellen we would take out UP-RIVER of the Walla-Walla falls !! When she sees this video I’m sure I’ll be placed on “double-secret” probation !!
Well thanks to your little video-blog expose, I guess I won’t be available for another outing until next spring #$&*!
See ya in April – Dave
@Jesse: The camera might has shut me up, but I made it up in the wordy voice over.
@Dave H.: I think Ellen could make it down Walla Walla Whoola Falls. I found it interesting that you where videotaping birds with very little concern about my little detour…
Jesse paid me big bucks to ignore you while you were careening over the trecherous waterfall !! Didn’t you know that he fantasizes about that sort of thing??!!
@Dave H.: Yea I know…
