Paul Pierce Interview TNT Footage
VIDEO BLOG:
Here is the segment that ran on October 28th at 7pm world-wide on TNT during the one hour pre-game show before the Celtics season opener in Boston. I was the Director of Photography and the Lighting Director on this shoot. Thanks to Dave, Chris, Bill and Matt for their help and professionalism. I also posted a time lapse of this entire seven hour day in another post on my blog. The file is standard definition 16:9. Thanks so much for posting this!
Great Job!!!
Now here is the the million dollar question!
Now that you have seen it edited and aired is there anything that you would change in your lighting set up for next time? Personally I do not see anything. Just wondering what your critical eye sees.
Perhaps some sort of upward reflection of light to tame the chin shadows on the necks? That’s all I can think of, but it’s easier said than done, because some sort of a lower light might have gotten in the way of the zoomed-out center shot
@Craig: That might have been nice, to get rid of the shadows under their chins, but like you said, if I had set up a reflector it would have appeared in the two shot.
Using a “Flex-fill” relfector is nice when you are only shooting singles. I have used it before the tame the shadows under the face.
@Matther Pugerude:
Good question. One thing I did not like was the framing on Paul Pierce’s single shot. I do not like the head room. I should have told Chris to tilt down just a little bit.
Thanks for the hind-sight comments. It is always like they say. 20/20
