A few weeks ago, I worked on a television remote at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. The job was to set up three Sony BetaSX cameras in the lobby of the casino and send the pictures from the Connecticut casino to the Comcast Sports Network control room in Burlington, Massachusetts. So basically, the “Sports [...] I will be at Boston Camera on Wednesday July 22 from 10am to noon as a guest speaker talking about Letus products and how it is possible to get the film look with video cameras. We will discuss technique and equipment. I was asked to work as a camera operator at the House of Blues for Asher Roth. The production company that hired me was D2 Productions and they were liaisons for Live Nation. D2 Productions is a Boston based company and I had worked for them in the past. I had never worked for Live [...] I was asked by Cox Communications to shoot a 30 second television spot to air on Cox cable television. This spot would be mostly graphics, and I asked my buddy graphics/editor TJ Powers if he would help me with the project. As far as camerawork goes, this was a very easy shoot. The name of the graphics/production company is One80 Visual and they were asked by Frontline to re-create the classic show components in high definition. I hate not knowing stuff, and because of this lack of knowledge something valuable to me may end up damaged, suck money out of my wallet or waste my time. I hope this article saves someone out there some grief! I have been looking for a high definition point of view “mini-cam” to cover action sports. My buddy Aaron, sent me a link to a new product made by Twenty20 that appears to fill a void to help cover action from the athletes point of view. And it is very inexpensive bit of gear!
