Lazy Lake
I shot this video at Ashland State Park, one of my favorite places to fish, bike, hike and kayak. The weather was beautiful and I was able to get some great images with a new lens addition to my bag of glass. I recently purchased a Nikon 300mm f4 prime lens. The lens is big and heavy. I needed to add a mount to my Letus rail system so that the lens could be supported. If I did not support the weight of this lens, I ran the risk of ripping off the front of my EX1 and damaging the Letus35 film lens adapter. This was shot in 720 30p and some of the shots were over-cranked to 60 frames per second. The time lapse was interval recording set to 1 frame for every 1 second of time elapsed. I set the camera to “Bloom”. This is the picture profile used by the EX1 guru, Philip Bloom. Here are the setting I used, thanks to Philip’s website, http://www.philipbloom.net. Picture Profile “BLOOM” I edited this in Final Cut Pro and color graded with Magic Bullet Looks. I over-saturated the colors in the video. TRT: 2 minutes and 44 seconds Please allow time for the video to download. This is a very large HD file. Production Credits Special Thanks To: 2 comments to Lazy Lake |

While I’m not exactly digging the over saturated color grading, I love the shots. I don’t know at times it has that “Looking at 3D movies without the glasses on” look to it. Good choice with the vignetting though.
@Roman France: You are right. This is my least favorite short on my website. I don’t like it. In fact, this is the only short that I did not post on Vimeo! I am not even certain why I even have it up here!
Watch all the other videos on this site and tell me what you think!
Thanks,
Tom
