Tom, I have been following your stuff for about a year. You have tremendous talent for capturing and marketing. You do one of the best jobs I have seen in your field. I would love to have you fly to California and do a training seminar, are you up for it this next year?
@Fred White: Sure, just send me a few dates that work for your schedule and I will try to make it work here. Send me a message using the “Contact” portion of this site on the nav bar at the left.
Incredible reel. Excellent work sir. I did a lighting search and found your piece on the Paul Pierce interview for TNT. Very helpful. If you ever need an editor or camera assist in Chicago let me know.
@Chris:
I used a motorized telescope head for the panning time lapse. You can read about it in my blog or by searching “panning timelapse” in the search box on the upper right of my site.
thanks!
Just a quick question, What did you use to shoot the slow mo stuff? for example the shot of the icicles over the river looks amazing. did you use the ex1? can you tell me what your process was?
that icicle shot was taken with the sony pmw-ex1 shooting at 60 frames per second (S&Q motion) overcrank. I also used the Letus Extreme 35mm lens adapter on that shot and color graded the image with my own brew using magic bullet looks.
Hey Tom… I know I have seen you around Fenway and the Garden. I was just kickin’ around vimeo and stumbled on your work. Amazing. I’m ready to start my venture into HD. WBZ finally put our new Sony XD Cams on the street, but I wanna get an inexpensive HD camera for my business. Any advise?
Great stuff Tom! I just have to ask this… The shot of you passing by a rock (I believe) with a waterfall in the background. How did you accomplish such smooth motion?? Surely you weren’t using a steadicam? Keep the videos coming Tom!
Hey Tom. Just a quick note to let you know I really enjoyed watching your demo reel today (via Jag35). Congratulations on all your success. Best wishes, Mark
Dear Tom. Are you permitted to use Hans Zimmers Music/Work for your promotional use? If not I think it is not fair to use without payment/permission. You filmmakers should know about that, because all the time you´re very angry if somebody else will use your work for his promotion without your OK.
The black and white shot after the man around the graffiti is the coolest thing i’ve seen in a while, watched it for about 20 times and still can’t get enough of it. Do you have a longer sequence with it anywhere to share?
Love the shot over the basketball court aswell, you made it work perfect with the music and slow-mo!
Stubled upon your website by random googleing and it has truly inspired me in alot of ways.
The only thing negative (hey, critisism is your friend in film making, right?) is the shot when the hockey player gets it. Kind of ruined the setting, i’m talking about the sound fx, since everything else is simply.. beuatiful
This is amazing! I love it.

@Tyler:
Thanks man. I love Chicago. Great walking city, so clean. Makes Boston look very dirty in comparison! Hope to get out there again soon.
WOW! Simply amazing! I absolutely love the timelapse pans! How do you accomplish that?

Watch out there’s this guy named Philip Bloom giving out your web site address…
Great stuff but I don’t think I would want to stand close to you when you shoot – ouch !
@Kevin Spahr: Who is Philip Bloom?
Love this video, a 1080p version of this would be great!
WOW, great stuff…

i would say go with the 7d (for moving photographs as they say) or a camera like the sony SR11 or canon hv20 for a point and shoot hd video camera.
Tom, this was really great! I cant believe that ball went right into that lens! I really enjoyed watching this great work!
i can’t believe the ball did not break the outer element of the lens!

i am using a pvc pipe and skateboard wheel dolly!
I appreciate your response. Will give that a try. Looking forward to seeing some great things from you Tom!
